Sidney lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado – but always considers Kenya and Africa as his home. He began his work with Compassion International in 2002 in the Compassion Kenya office. During his 19 years with the organization, he has served in Communications as Director of Compassion Kenya and Vice President of the Africa Region. In 2019 he entered his current role as Compassion’s Senior Vice President of the Global Program. He leads 2,700 staff from 25 countries and drives its strategy and approach to holistic development for the over 2 million children and youth. Compassion serves in partnership with over 8,000 individual frontline church partners.
Sidney is passionate about leadership development for church leaders and the youth. He believes that dynamic and outcome-oriented leadership is essential to addressing a complex phenomenon such as poverty,
He has a BA in Communications, an MA in Leadership Studies, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership studies. He enjoys studying and teaching Scriptures, world literature, and spending time with his family.
