David Steward II is an Academy Award-winning producer who owns and operates several companies focused on multicultural and diverse content. In 2018, he founded Polarity, a holding company overseeing a range of content offerings, including graphic novels and animated television. He launched Lion Forge Animation in 2019, which produced the Oscar-winning animated short film “Hair Love.” The studio has become a leading Black-owned animation studio recognized for its authentic content focusing on underrepresented groups.

Upcoming projects include an adaptation of the graphic novel series “Iyanu: Child of Wonder” for HBO Max and a “Hair Love” spinoff series. Steward was recognized by Variety in the publication’s 2022 Inclusion Impact Report, highlighting the entertainment industry’s top advocates for inclusivity.
